This week, I’m launching the Africa Travel Book Vol. 2 (Backpacking Africa for Beginners E-book). Email support after last year’s emails is so compelling that my books and videos are the reason why people make the decision. Come on in this continent. Because that’s what I’m really passionate about, changing the perception of people in African countries.

One great change I made this time was to switch to This means that now you can pay as you like or nothing at all for the book. Here are some of my main reasons:
Is true culture One thing you will find no matter where you are in this continent is the hospitality. These people give Just like the time when Zambian women shared a blanket with me on the bus because I was cold. Or my shoe time stuck in the mud, so Ethiopian gave me her. Or when some Kenyans gave me masks, because they thought I needed them. Even among backpackers it is normal to give. Just like when I left Mozambique and did not realize it was impossible to trade the new currency when I went. It is good to make my book a gift, and if you want to reward something great. If not, I’m still happy to learn about African tourism.

Traveling Africa is about being a part of the community and sharing experiences, stories, and other things you want. In this photo, I learned how to cook in the dark on a charcoal stove with a Dutch backpacker.
Because i believe in people While some can be downloaded for free and posted all over the internet, so I never make any money from it. I think most people are pretty scary. And if I give you free money, what I get from you, even if it’s only $ 1. But it’s a personal exchange between us, rather than the amount I set. Connectivity and community are something that I always admire more and more. How long do I live in Africa?

Sometimes we grow up and forget our innocence and wonder what we have in the world like kids.
Make it available to everyone. People can not download books if they want to pay, especially in countries in Africa where credit cards are just getting stuff and that sucks. If there’s anything I would like to see, Africans travel and write about continents. And since every country is different, they need this information.

[* Note: Due to many spammers and other issues, I have stopped paying as you-like-style, but I still believe in the gift economy. So if any reason you can not pay / download / AFFORD IT please let me know. I will send a coupon! :)]
Some people will love this and some will hate it. This is why I left the original price. (Price is the recommended price) for people who think “Tell me how much to pay,” but it’s up to you. Do everything you feel is right. Africa Travel should not have the knowledge alone for me. Should it be for everyone anyways and know what you can offer? I appreciate everything since I spent all my money to start a social impact business in Ethiopia.

On another note, my Ethiopian boyfriend studied all the statistics and it depends on the number of people searching the internet for backpacking trips to Africa, he said. “There is no way thousands of people will download your African travel books,” which was my original goal. But that is very sad.
In a world of billions of people, we can not even find people who are interested in the 2nd largest continent to read Africa travel books.
So if nothing else, just download a copy even if you can not afford a sign that people are generous enough to consider Africa for travel, despite all the shit spread about it in the media. (And since I lost my last bet and did not think I would win anyway)
